Like Elastollan, Ultrafuse TPU 85A has excellent resitance to hydrolysis and good flexibility at low temperature, resistance to biological attack, good wear performancem high tensile strength, good damping behavior.
Excellent properties, such as mechanical strength, resistance to abrasion, and slip resisntance, together with broad range of possible degrees of hardness with different designs, make Ultrafuse TPU 85A an ideal material for applications in the fields of footwear, sports and leisure, automotive, industrial manufacturing, agriculture and construction.
Material meets the following standards for biocompatibility:
- Cytotoxicity XTT neutral red ISO 10993-5
- Skin irritation Ultrafuse ISO 10993-10
- Skin sensitization LLNA KretinoSens ISO 10993-10
Direct feeder system instead of bowden is recommended with this material due to its softness. We have succesfully printed using Ultimaker 3 with the following settings:
250-260C nozzle temp
0.8mm nozzle seems more reliable than 0.4mm
0.3mm layer heigth
15-25mm/s print speed(always use same print speed for the whole print!)
108-113% flow rate
Retraction off
Fan off
Loosen the feeded spring just a little bit if needed, slightly under 1/4th of the whole range seems ok.
Filament might get tangled up in the feeder due to its softness. If this happens, pull back the filament a bit, then let it feed back, while also pulling the filament back a bit, not so much that feeder couldnt pull it.
