PLA is Poly-Lactic-Acid, a biodegradable polymer with a low melting point. It is an easy material to print with and lnnofil3D PLA gives a smooth printing result. This most used 3D printing material is available in a wide range of RAL and lnnofil3D colors and translucent variants.

When properly cooled, PLA has a higher maximum printing speed, lower layer heights and sharper printed corners. Combining this with low warping of the print makes it a popular plastic for makers, prosumers and schools

BASF Ultrafuse ABS Fusion+ made with Polyscope XILOYTM 3D is an engineering filament which has been optimized for 3D-printing.

Polyscope is renowned for its material solutions in the automotive industry. The properties of ABS Fusion+ are:

  • Chemical resitance
  • High heat resistance
  • Low warping
  • Compatible with BVOH support material
  • Tough

Although ABS has been classified as a standard material in 3D-printing it used to be a very challenging to process, until now. We managed to develop an ABS grade which can be directly printed on glass without any fluids or tape and has a higher success rate of prints due to extreme low warping.

To provide users with valuable information we have collected data regarding the mechanical properties of the 3D-printed specimen according to the ISO standards.

PAHT CF15 is a high-performance 3D printing filament that opens new application fields in FFF printing. In parallel to its advanced mechanical properties, dimensional stability and chemical resistance, it has very good processability. It works in any FFF printer with hardened nozzle.

In addition to that, it is compatible with BVOH, water soluble support
material and HIPS which allow to print complex geometries that works in
challenging environments.

The metal filament Ultrafuse 316L from BASF is an innovative metal-polymer composite for Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF). It has its technical origin in the metal injection molding (MIM) technology of BASF's Catamold® product family. It enables the safe, simple, and cost-efficient production of fully metal parts for prototypes, metal tooling and functional metal parts in the simplest 3D printing process. After the subsequent industry-standard debinding and sintering, the final 3D printed part is 316L stainless steel.

The metal content in the high 90 percent range and the even distribution of the metal within the binder matrix reduces the risk of defects and increases the success rate. Due to immobilization of metal particles in the binder matrix in the filament dramatically reduces the potential hazards of handling fine metal powders when compared to Selective Laser Melting (SLM), Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS), Direct Metal Deposition (DMD) and Binder Jetting.

Ultrafuse 316L is compatible with both Bowden and direct drive extruders via the use of a non-slip surface. Possessing high flexibility, the filament can be guided through complex idler pulleys and guide roller filament transportation systems.

 

The main reasons why Ultrafuse 316L is cost effective are:

  • Our filament works with any open FFF printer which means low investment cost in hardware
  • We make use of a highly efficient and established post processing technology used in the Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) industry
  • As this is a filament the material handling is much safer and very easy to handle. This allows an easy material exchange in comparison to handling with fine metal powders

 

The advantage of Ultrafuse 316 are:

  • It is in general 1.4 tot 2.2 times more cheaper than most metal powders with less investment in hardware
  • There are significant cost advantage for small and medium sized components
  • The overall manufacturing costs decrease significantly  with increasing the lot size
  • With additive manufacturing you can create full stainless steel parts with a high degree of complexity

NB! Because the materials debinding and sintering requires industrial equipment, we offer these as a service. Maximum size for unsintered parts is 100mm x 100mm x 100mm, but we might be able to sinter larger parts, contact us for this.

The Filament Enabling Stainless Steel Parts for Applications that Require High Hardness and Mechanical Strength


Ultrafuse® 17-4 PH is a filament for the production of metal components in 17-4 stainless steel on standard Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) printers.

This stainless steel can be fully heat treated to high levels of strength and hardness. It is therefore ideal for Petrochemistry, Aerospace, the Automotive and the Medical Industry. Parts printed with our metal-polymer composite filament Ultrafuse® 17-4 PH obtain their final properties through a catalytic debinding and sintering process known from traditional Metal Injection Molding.

 

 

NB! The printed part needs to be processed by debinding and sintering to produce the final part. We offer this as a service and can also provide instructions for the process. Add North’s OBC Polyethylene is an engineering grade filament that lets you print lightweight, chemical resistant and extremely durable parts. One popular use case is various sorts of containers with living hinges, thanks to the materials excellent fatigue resistance. OBC Polyethylene is a suitable filament for many applications that requires extreme durability and layer adhesion. The printed surface is very smooth to the touch and provides good looking parts.

Add North’s Adamant S1 is made of 100% PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride), which makes it the ideal industrial-grade printing material. The Adamant S1 offers good thermal and excellent chemical and solvent resistance. While other PVDF filaments experience a lot of warping, this version is completely warp-free which makes it much easier to use.

This filament can be used in demanding applications and under some of the most extreme conditions in very harsh environments, with a flammability rating of UL94 V-0.

Adamant S1 yields semi-flexible prints with extreme durability. Layer adhesion is especially good. Some have called it the low-temp equivalent to PEEK, and it works on almost any regular desktop 3D-printer.

The Koltron G1 is very electrically and thermally conductive, resistant to a range of chemicals, UV light and high continuous working temperatures, with the highest flame-retardant rating. The versatility is unmatched in polymer additive manufacturing. 

The application areas for the Koltron G1 are vast, ranging from EMI and RFI (electromagnetic and radio frequency interference) shielding to capacitive sensors, wearable and printed electronics as well as the cooling of electronics. The incorporation of Graphmatech’s unique AROS Graphene also gives the printed parts excellent self-lubricating properties. 

A great deal of the development focused on making the material processable in any FDM 3D printer. This has now been achieved, making the newly launched Koltron G1 versatile not only through its broad potential applications, but also in its widespread accessibility.

Apart from its great electrical conductivity (~2.0 Ohm-cm volume resistivity), which can be seen in the Technical Data Sheet, it has also performed well in tests on thermal conductivity (0.5W/Km) and in shielding effectiveness/attenuation (22dB).
