General
Octofiber ABS is produced from an optimized ABS polymer and carefully monitored pigments and is processed under the highest quality controls. This ensures a consistent product, with accurate printed objects as a result. ABS is well known for its high impact resistance and is suitable for many applications where you can use thoughness, temperature resistance up to 75 °C and a matte surface finish.
Printing guidelines
The values below are a safe starting point to obtain good results, but may not be optimal for your printer. for example a delta printer can achieve much higher speeds than a direct drive would. Anyways, contact us if you cannot get it working.
Printing speed |
30-60mm/s |
Bed temperature |
95 °C |
Nozzle temperature |
225 °C |
Use them as a starting point, optimal values for your specific printer may vary from the values shown above, depending on e.g. nozzle diameter, exact printing speed and layer height to name a few.
Bed adhesion
Many strategies are possible to get Octofiber ABS properly to your print-bed: clean glass, blue painters tape, glue stick, hairspray, special 3D printing stickers. Whichever option you choose, a heated bed is advised, as it increases bonding and reduces the warping process.
About Octofiber
As many other developments, Octofiber started from an annoying experience: every once in a while a 3D print process was ruthlessly stopped due to a very basic issue: filament entangling caused by intertwingled loose windings of filament when the filament was not attached to the printer. With the rise of improved packing for 3D printing filament, the opportunity was there to use the protective box not only during shipping but also during operation.
